Jude 1:19-23

Today we are reading Jude.
As we read, these verses stood out to me:

Jude 1:19-23 - But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, 18 that they were saying to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.” 19These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit. 20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. 22 And have mercy on some, who are doubting; 23 save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh.

3. A lot of us, like the author of this letter, want to believe that Salvation is a lot more common than it actually is. What are some things we can do to place a greater emphasis on the value of our Salvation?

4. Of all the attributes Jude uses to describe the behavior of ungodly people, which ones seem to be most commonly accepted in our modern culture?

5. Read Jude 1:19. Do you think of the person who is inclusive or exclusive in their interactions as the person who is most often responsible for "causing divisions?"

6. Jude 1:20 implies that as followers of Christ we would not be causing divisions, worldly-minded, or devoid of the Spirit. Take some time to thank God for helping to change the condition of your heart in these ways.

7. Read Jude 1:20-23. Which one of these encouragements toward good works seems like something you should be more intentional about practicing on a regular basis?
