Today we are reading Ephesians 6.
As we read, these verses stood out to me:

Ephesians 6:13-17 - Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having strapped on your feet the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Please, take some time to Share Your Thoughts With Us as they relate to this passage.

You can share anything that is on your heart but, if you don't know where to start, try reading these verses and answering one or more of the following "Honest Questions."

Honest Questions

1. The Apostle Paul makes very practical application of the gospel to our daily lives. As you read the book of Ephesians what were some of the things that seemed to stand out most clearly as you read?

2. If I were to summarize the message of the book of Ephesians I might say something like, "The spiritual implications of Christ death, burial, resurrection, and ascension are immensely practical and most clearly demonstrated by they way the followers of Christ relate to the people around them." Do you agree or disagree with this statement? If you were to reword or improve it what would you change?

3. Ephesians 6:10-20 are well known verses addressing the subject of spiritual warfare. As you read those verses what are some of the things that seem most significant to you?

4. Do the schemes of the devil ever change? Are we doing enough to "stand firm against the schemes of the devil" in our day?

5. Read Ephesians 6:13. Is every day "the evil day" or is Paul referring to something more specific than that? Compare Ephesians 6:13 to Ephesians 5:15-17. Are these thoughts related?

6. Do you think there is any significance to the physical description of each piece of the armor of God or is this just a poetic commendation of the attributes of truth, righteousness, the preparation of the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the word of God?

7. What do you think it means to have "strapped on your feet the preparation of the gospel of peace?"

8. At what point in a person's life should we expect them to be taking up the full armor of God for themselves? Are we doing enough to express the importance spiritual warfare within our spheres of influence?

9. What is was your favorite verse in Ephesians 6 and why?

10. Do you have any specific questions or prayer requests after reading Ephesians 6?
